Spanish translators (whether you work to or from Spanish) may be interested in the wealth of resources offered by the ATA’s Spanish Language Division. The latest SPD newsletter highlights an entire page of their website devoted to resources for business administration, all kinds of useful tools, and an impressive list of glossaries. I encourage everyone to take a peek. As long as you can navigate a Spanish-language website, many of these resources are valuable to translators who work with any language.
I think the SPD’s website design could use some work, but I’m not worried. All of the candidates for SPD Administrator believe that the division website is a valuable resource. Although a new design might make it more attractive, the real value comes from the content contributed by members and volunteers. I look forward to seeing what the next administrator will do with it! If you are a member of the Spanish Language Division, don’t forget to vote for the new administrator. Ballots are due by October 20!
