I am Rachel McRoberts, the translator behind McRoberts Translations. I am an ATA-certified Spanish to English translator. I specialize in Spanish to English translation for businesses and NGOs in the fields of marketing, communications, international development, and humanitarian aid. I have translated a variety of documents, including websites, brochures, press releases, grant applications, reports, surveys, academic papers, contracts, and certificates.
A native English speaker from the United States, I began learning Spanish when I was just six years old. I followed my interest in foreign languages and cultures to graduate school at the University of California, San Diego, where I received a master’s degree in sociocultural/linguistic anthropology. As a freelance translator, I draw on my skills in language, technology, and research as well as my experience as the communications manager of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to help my clients translate their message from Spanish into English.
In addition to professional translation, I help entrepreneurs around the world by providing pro-bono translations for Kiva, a nonprofit microlending organization. I also teach an online course in Spanish to English Translation at UCSD Extension, contributing to the professional development and training of the next generation of translators.
Because my native language is U.S. English, I translate from Spanish into English. By only translating into my native language, I can ensure that your translation will be accurate and sound natural to English readers. If you need a translation into Spanish (or any other language), I will do my best to help you find a professional translator for your project.
