About Rachel McRoberts | McRoberts Translations

I am Rachel McRoberts, the translator behind McRoberts Translations. I am an ATA-certified Spanish to English translator. I specialize in Spanish to English translation for businesses and NGOs in the fields of marketing, communications, international development, and humanitarian aid. I have translated a variety of documents, including websites, brochures, press releases, grant applications, reports, surveys, academic papers, contracts, and certificates.

Why I do what I do

A native English speaker from the United States, I began learning Spanish when I was just six years old. While in college, I studied abroad at the University of Barcelona in Spain and volunteered in Guatemala. I followed my interest in foreign languages and cultures to graduate school at the University of California, San Diego, where I received a master’s degree in sociocultural/linguistic anthropology. As a freelance translator, I draw on my skills in language, technology, and research as well as my experience as the communications manager of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to help my clients translate their message from Spanish into English.

Because my native language is U.S. English, I translate from Spanish into English. By only translating into my native language, I can ensure that your translation will be accurate and sound natural to English readers. • M.A. in Linguistic/Sociocultural Anthropology, University of California, San Diego

• B.A. in Modern Languages (Spanish & Japanese) and Anthropology/Sociology, Knox College

• Member: ATA, Phi Beta Kappa
